A Golden Jubilee of Grace

Fifty years of religious life as an Ursuline marks a deeply significant and grace-filled milestone in my life—a journey woven with faith, gratitude, growth, and loving service. As I look back, my heart overflows with thanksgiving for the countless blessings received and for the steadfast presence of God who has guided me every step of the way.

I grew up in a traditional Catholic family, living just opposite our parish church. Faith was the very fabric of our daily life—expressed through family prayers, regular participation in the Eucharist, and a strong sense of belonging to the Church. In this nurturing environment, I became aware of a gentle yet persistent inner urge, inviting me to respond to God’s call. With trust and courage, I said my heartfelt “YES” to Him.

On 25th May 1975, responding to what I experienced as a personal invitation from God, I made my religious vows—entering into a sacred covenant to live my life with the Sisters of St. Ursula, my companions in Jesus. On that day, I entrusted my future entirely to the Lord, asking Him to sustain me always with His grace.

This golden jubilee of my consecration was joyfully celebrated on 21st October 2025, the Feast of St. Ursula, our Patron Saint. It was a moment of profound thanksgiving, filled with deep emotion and gratitude. Looking back over these fifty years, I can truly say that God has blessed me abundantly—keeping me healthy, joyful, and deeply fulfilled in my vocation.

At the heart of my journey has been a deep desire to live peacefully with those around me, and to treat every person and all of creation with reverence and respect. While I am aware of my human limitations and failures, my inner journey has been one of growing freedom—rooted in trust in God’s unconditional love.

A Golden Jubilee of Grace

From my early years, I have always been deeply touched by the beauty of nature—plants, flowers, trees, birds, landscapes—each leaving a quiet yet lasting impression on my heart. Initially, I experienced this simply as joy. Over time, as my religious life deepened, these moments took on richer meaning. I began to recognize in silence and stillness the gentle presence of God, the Supreme Power at work within and around me. Gradually, in countless visible and invisible ways, God continued to build upon the foundation He had already laid in my life.

The generous support and formation offered by the Society of St. Ursula greatly enriched my journey. Through varied experiences and guidance, my faith matured and deepened. My prayer life evolved—embracing different forms such as imaginative meditation, silent contemplation, the Rosary, vocal and petitionary prayers, the Litany of Saints, Scripture reading, and above all, the daily Eucharist. Through these, I have come to experience inner peace, strength, joy, and a profound closeness with God dwelling within me. This journey has helped me to encounter God’s forgiving love, to extend forgiveness to others, and to approach life, people, and situations with a positive and hopeful outlook.

My missionary zeal found concrete expression in the fields of education and faith formation, especially in service to the vulnerable and marginalized. As the years passed, the deeper meaning of my religious vows became clearer: chastity as pure and self-giving love; poverty as the freedom to relate rightly to material things with detachment; and obedience as attentive listening to God’s guidance, often mediated through my superiors.

These fifty years have taught me that community life is fundamentally about mutual support, and that religious life exists to free us to live fully our baptismal consecration. It is a call to love God and neighbour unconditionally, for only love can fill the empty spaces created by evil.

A Golden Jubilee of Grace

Pope Francis, in Gaudete et Exsultate, reminds us that “Holiness means union with Christ. He is the vine and we are the branches.” He further invites us to realize that “the Word is the message of Jesus that God wants to speak to the world by your life.” These words resonate deeply within me today, offering fresh meaning and inspiration as I reflect on my journey each day

My fifty years as an Ursuline stand as a testament to God’s enduring faithfulness and boundless grace. I have been continually supported by the prayers and love of my family, the sisters of my Congregation, and the wider faith community with whom I have shared both joys and challenges. Through my mission, especially in education, I have had the privilege of serving those in need, witnessing the dignity of each human person, and helping to bring the light of knowledge and Gospel values into the lives of students and their families.

For all these opportunities, I give thanks to God, who—through my superiors—entrusted me with responsibilities and mission. With faith in Him, I have learned to carry out my duties with commitment and trust.

Scripture beautifully captures the essence of my journey: “For those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). It is my earnest prayer that my faith in God may continue to grow ever deeper, for without Him, nothing truly has meaning.

Indeed, it has been—and continues to be—a truly beautiful journey.

Formation: A Lifelong Journey of the Heart

My experience of formation in religious life has truly been a journey of grace, growth, and deep inner transformation. When I first entered formation, I carried within me many expectations, along with fears and doubts. Yet, as the days unfolded, I gradually discovered that formation is not merely a period of training or preparation—it is a sacred process of becoming.

The rhythm of prayer became the heartbeat of my formation. Whether in silent adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, personal meditation, or simple community prayers, I experienced my relationship with God growing deeper and more intimate. Each day gently invited me to grow in patience, self-discipline, responsibility, emotional maturity, understanding, mutual respect, and support for others. At times, the journey was demanding, but every challenge became an opportunity to deepen my commitment and to rediscover the joy of my vocation.

My experiences during Postulancy and Novitiate opened my heart to the realities of the world—the struggles of the poor, the longing of parents in slum areas for quality education for their children, the loneliness of women at Ma-heir, and the silent pain of children without parents searching for meaning and belonging in life. These encounters constantly reminded me why I had said my initial “yes” to this way of life. They grounded my vocation firmly in compassion, service, and a desire to walk faithfully in the footsteps of Mother Anne.

ommunity life played a vital role in my formation, teaching me that a vocation is never lived in isolation. Through shared prayer, common meals, visiting families, and even moments of misunderstanding and conflict, I learned what it truly means “to walk humbly with God” in the company of others. Community became a sacred space where love, patience, forgiveness, and growth were lived daily.

Looking back, I recognize the formation period as a sacred time—a journey of being gently molded by God, like clay in the hands of the potter, through the ordinary events of daily life. It nurtured within me a deeper sense of purpose, a stronger faith, and a more generous heart. Formation also challenged me to face both my limitations and my strengths with honesty and trust.

The sincere guidance, support, and encouragement of my formator, Sr. Vanitha, and my spiritual director, Fr. George, along with the challenges and blessings of community life, helped reveal areas within me that needed healing and growth. These moments were not always comfortable, but they were essential in shaping inner freedom and spiritual maturity. They continue to remind me that vocation itself is a lifelong formation, and that God, in His loving patience, continues to shape and form me each day..

»

I express my deep gratitude to my formators—Sr. Vanitha, Sr. Ida, Sr. Gracy, Sr. Nelirose, and Sr. Antoinette—for their guidance, wisdom, and loving accompaniment. My sincere thanks also go to my companions who stood by me with their love, care, support, and encouragement throughout this journey.

With a grateful heart, I acknowledge that formation has not ended—it continues every day as I strive to allow God to shape my heart more fully according to His will.

When I look out into the street

And see injustices and atrocities,

I have choices either to remain in silence

Or to voice out against these injustices.

I choose not silence but to speak out

So that I may be a courageous being one day.

»

When I return home at night,

And see my dear ones in need,

I have choices either to fulfil my personal needs

Or cater to the necessities of my dear ones.

I choose not my needs but those of my dear ones

So that I may be a loving being one day.

The choices I make, changes my destiny and leads me to the rest of my life...

Today's priorities,

Tomorrow 's personalities.

»

Thus GOD, HEALTH, ETHICS, VALUES AND RELATIONSHIPS are our priorities.

Having them in life..we possess great Treasures,

The real worth of them we can never measure.

Blessed Carlo Acutis
Blessed Carlo Acutis
The Patron Saint of the Media, Internet, and Youth
Blessed Carlo Acutis
»

Can you guess who this Saint is? Yes, you have guessed right.

He is none other than Blessed Carlo Acutis.

»

Carlo Acutis was born on 3rd May 1991 in London, in an ordinary and devout family. He grew up in the age of technology, internet and social media like most of us. He had a tremendous love for these skills, and was an ace in them. Besides, he was also interested in swimming, playing video games etc. His favourite video game was playing ‘Pokemon’.

He spent time with his friends defeating the virtual monster in this game and winning virtual battles. Because of his love for video games many young friends joined him. At the age of 13 in 2004 he created his own website through which he made God known throughout the world. The social media did not win him over but he won it over.

📜 His message to the youngsters of today is:

»

1. At your age when you were busy in posting your photos on social media I was busy posting photos of God and miracles of the Eucharist.

2. While you were busy in clicking various poses with fake smiles, I was busy in discovering the true meaning of life in God.

3. While you were busy inviting many friends on Facebook, Instagram etc. I was busy inviting many friends to God.

4. While you were copying the lifestyle of others, but which left you dissatisfied, and unhappy, I was busy telling about God to the rest.

5. At the end your friends deserted you, whereas I won many young souls for God.

Today Carlo a boy of our age teaches us how to use social media in an appropriate and prudent way.

»

Blessed Carlo Acutis died on 12th October 2006 at the early age of 15. He died of Leukemia setting an example to many young people. He was beatified on 10th October 2020 and was raised to Sainthood on 1st July 2024 by Holy Father Pope Francis in Rome .As the saying goes 'What you sow,so you reap’. Similarly Carlo Acutis sowed the seeds of God's mercy, love,,compassion, and devotion to the Eucharist, that God rewarded him to be the youngest Saint in the world. Till today the body of Carlo Acutis remains INCURRUPT in Italy, Assisi

In Conclusion I would like to end with these words of his:

»

“I am happy to die because I have lived life without wasting a minute”.

As youngsters we tend to compare our real life to someone else's. Only accept friend request from people you know. Carlo's life invites each one of us to live our own life in an original and purposeful way.. Again he invites us to have good and healthy relationships with real friends rather than virtual ones on Instagram, Facebook, etc..

Venerable Anne of Dijon

You were a woman of vision

Called and chosen for a Mission

Without any condition.

»

God called you to leave your land

To find a home in another land

"I am with you alwaysâ" He said,

To lead you and guide you on your way.

»

Being a woman of strength and calibre

You heeded the call of the Saviour

Left your home and people.

In search of the land and your Mission.

»

After a long journey,

You entered the Gates of Dole

Where you found ladies of Mt. Roland

Awaiting you with joy and gladness

»

With a band of young women

You went about doing good

"Be ye little lamps" you said

"To dispel the darkness around you"

»

Your father a man of power

Tried to call you back home

But nothing could shake the undaunted you

Who loved God with all your heart.

»

Hours you spent before your Eucharistic Lord

And gained strength for body and soul

To teach and instruct women and girls

Who were hungering and thirsting for GOD.

»

Four hundred and fifty years have rolled since then

Ursulines have lit the path of women and girls

At home and in Foreign land

Spreading the KINGDOM OF JESUS far and wide.

»

We are happy and proud to hold up our banner

"Lighted to Light" the pathway of many

Come on Sisters, let's go forward

Happy to burn in the Service of the Lord.
