“Whatever you do to the least of my people, that you do unto me.” (Matthew 25:40)
Pope Francis reminds us of the sacredness of every human life:
“Even the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the old, the unborn and the poor are masterpieces of God’s creation, made in His own image and likeness… In a frail human being each one of us is invited to recognize the face of the Lord.”
Inspired by this vision, the Ursuline Sisters dedicate themselves to preserving and nurturing the precious gift of life. Medical intervention, for us, is not merely a professional service—it is a ministry of love, reverence, and faith. We believe that everyone is called to be a healer, and that health care is a fundamental expression of human dignity.

“Whatever you do to the least of my people, that you do unto me.” (Matthew 25:40)
Pope Francisreminds us of the sacredness of every human life:
“Even the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the old, the unborn and the poor are masterpieces of God’s creation, made in His own image and likeness… In a frail human being each one of us is invited to recognize the face of the Lord.”
Inspired by this vision, the Ursuline Sisters dedicate themselves to preserving and nurturing the precious gift of life. Medical intervention, for us, is not merely a professional service—it is a ministry of love, reverence, and faith. We believe that everyone is called to be a healer, and that health care is a fundamental expression of human dignity.

Health awareness and access to medical care remain a serious challenge in many rural and remote areas of India. Responding to this reality, Ursuline Sisters serving in the medical field journey to villages on the peripheries—places where medical facilities rarely reach. With courage and commitment, our sister nurses operate mobile clinics, carrying healing and wholeness to the sick and suffering.
Their compassionate service touches the lives of people in:
• Akola (Maharashtra)
• Vyara (South Gujarat):
• Amod (Central Gujarat)
• Pakertoli (Jharkhand)
In these regions, the sisters provide holistic care through Allopathy, alongside Herbal and Ayurvedic medicine, respecting local traditions while ensuring effective treatment. Each patient encounters not only professional care but also a healing touch rooted in prayer and faith. Medicines are administered with spiritual support, helping patients experience hope, comfort, and inner strength.

In every sick and vulnerable person, the Ursuline Sisters recognize the face of the suffering Christ. Their mission is marked by deep joy and fulfillment, even as they serve in places few are willing to go. It is a quiet yet powerful witness to Gospel love lived in action. During the Year of Mercy, the Society organized medical camps in these underserved areas with the generous support of doctors and volunteers. These camps were widely appreciated and proved immensely beneficial to thousands who otherwise lacked access to basic health care. Continuing this legacy, the Jubilee Year also provided renewed opportunities to reach out to countless individuals deprived of medical facilities.

As Pope Francis powerfully states:
“There is no human life more sacred than another… The credibility of a health system is measured above all by the attention and love given to the person, whose life is always sacred and inviolable.”
The medical mission of the Society of St. Ursula stands as a living testimony to this truth. Through compassionate service, professional dedication, and deep faith, the Ursuline Sisters continue to bring healing where it is most needed—affirming life, restoring dignity, and proclaiming God’s love through every caring gesture.
