On 21 October 2025, the Ursuline family came together at the Kamal Nayan Bajaj School Hall, Pune, to celebrate a joyful Jubilee of Thanksgiving, praising God for the precious gift of religious life and the faithful service rendered in the Society of St. Ursula.
At the heart of the celebration was the Golden Jubilee of Sr. Judith and Sr. Christine, who marked 50 blessed years of consecrated life. Their long and faithful journey stood as a profound witness to perseverance, prayer, and generous service in the Lord’s vineyard.
The occasion also honoured the Silver Jubilarians—Srs. Shobhana, Rosemary, Perpet, Fatima, Elisa, Antoinette, and Anuja—who joyfully completed 25 years of religious life. Their lives reflect God’s abiding grace, lived through dedication, growth, sacrifice, and joy, inspiring all who walk alongside them.
The Holy Eucharist was presided over by His Grace Rev. Thomas Francis D’Souza, Bishop of the Diocese of Vasai. In his meaningful reflection, he beautifully described the Silver Jubilarians as living “Contemplation in Action,” while the Golden Jubilarians embodied “Action in Contemplation.” He reminded the assembly that a religious vocation is a sacred call, sustained by God’s tenderness, mercy, and unwavering fidelity.
The celebration was enriched by the presence of numerous Ursuline Sisters from near and distant communities. A special joy was the presence of Mother General Sr. Rita D’Silva and General Councillor Sr. Augusta Stafford, who joined the celebration from Switzerland. Their presence strengthened the bonds of sisterhood and reaffirmed the shared Ursuline mission.
The simplicity, warmth, and deep spirit of thanksgiving echoed the charism of Venerable Mother Anne de Xainctonge, whose life and vision continue to inspire faithful service rooted in Christ.
As the Jubilarians reflected on their journeys, hearts were filled with gratitude for parents, families, formators, companions, and mission communities. Every experience—both joyful and challenging—was acknowledged as grace, deepening faith and leading to greater surrender to God.
The celebration concluded with renewed hope and prayer for continued fidelity to the Ursuline charism, especially in education, compassion, and evangelizing presence. May the fire ignited at the beginning of these journeys continue to burn brightly—witnessing to Christ, forming young hearts, and building God’s Kingdom with joy and simplicity.
